Travel Guide for ROUND HILL PARK - Pittsburgh Purple Travel Guide
We tell you why you should visit ROUND HILL PARK in the Pittsburgh area and what you need to know.
Round Hill Park is an Allegheny County Park. If you plan on hiking here, I recommend downloading the Allegheny County Parks app and, within the app, downloading the map of this park for offline use.
Even though the app hangs at times and may need to be restarted, it shows you all the blazed trails and its GPS function shows you exactly where you are on the trail. The website with interactive maps, PDF maps and links to the app is here.
On its 1,101 acres (4.5 km2), Round Hill Park has 17 picnic groves, soccer fields and gardens, but its main attraction is the modern working demonstration farm. Admission to the farm is free and it is open every day of the year. When you come during school hours, you may see some of the tens of thousands of school students on their field trip. The working farm has pigs, horses, sheep, goats, rabbits, chicken and so on that you and your kids can visit and interact with. There is also farming equipment on display. Plan at least 30min for this, and an hour if you have your kids with you.
