Backpack and Snorkel Purple Travel GuideLocated in the heart of District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, Saigon Centre is one of Vietnam’s most modern and luxurious commercial complexes. With a sleek architectural design, an upscale shopping mall, international dining options, and office and residential towers, Saigon Centre offers an all-in-one experience for visitors and locals alike. It also houses the Fusion Original Saigon Centre, a hotel which we highly recommend.
Originally opened in 1996 and fully redeveloped in 2016, Saigon Centre is a state-of-the-art shopping mall and mixed-use complex developed by Keppel Land of Singapore. It quickly became one of the most iconic commercial hubs in Ho Chi Minh City, offering premium retail stores, international brands, and world-class amenities all under one roof. The complex spans multiple towers and features the city’s first Takashimaya Vietnam—a Japanese department store that anchors the mall and draws thousands of shoppers daily.
Saigon Centre is home to over 400 local and international brands, making it one of the best shopping malls in Ho Chi Minh City. From global fashion labels like H&M, Zara, and Calvin Klein to high-end cosmetics and accessories, the mall offers something for every budget and style. The Takashimaya Department Store, occupying multiple floors, delivers a luxury shopping experience with Japanese service standards, premium brands, and seasonal promotions.
If you are looking for authentic Vietnamese products, Saigon Centre also features curated boutique shops selling local handicrafts, designer goods, and gourmet food items. Regardless if you are looking for souvenirs, stylish clothing, or quality gifts, this shopping mall is one of the most convenient and comfortable places to shop in central Ho Chi Minh City.
If you are wondering where to eat in District 1, Saigon Centre has you covered. The mall has a diverse selection of over 50 restaurants and cafes, ranging from international chains like Starbucks and Pizza 4P’s to specialty Vietnamese cuisine, Korean BBQ, Japanese sushi, and Thai food. Many of these restaurants can be found on the upper levels.
The Takashimaya food court on the lower level is especially popular for its variety, air-conditioned seating, and high cleanliness standards. We think it is one of the best places to eat near Ben Thanh Market without braving the heat or crowds of the streets.
