Backpack and Snorkel Purple Travel GuideLast night, you visited Can Tho Love Bridge and marveled at it beautiful illumination. Today, we will start our tour on the bridge and learn that it is worth a visit during daylight hours, too.
Cần Thơ Love Bridge, is officially called Ninh Kiều Pedestrian Bridge. Located at the edge of the famous Ninh Kiều Wharf, this elegantly lit footbridge has quickly become a popular photo spot, walking destination, and nighttime attraction for locals and tourists alike.
Opened in 2016, the Ninh Kiều Pedestrian Bridge connects Ninh Kiều Park with Cái Khế Islet, a small recreational area across the water. The bridge was built to:
Beautify the city’s waterfront
Enhance pedestrian access
Create a public space for festivals and events
Its nickname, the ‘Love Bridge’, reflects its popularity among couples, who frequently visit to take photos and enjoy romantic views of the illuminated cityscape.
The Cần Thơ Love Bridge spans approximately 1/8 mile (200 m) and is notable for its:
Graceful ‘S' shape - A symbolic nod to the shape of Vietnam itself
LED lighting system - Color-changing lights illuminate the bridge at night, creating a magical riverside scene
Built-in benches - Strategically placed for resting and watching boats pass by on the Hậu River
Panoramic views - Enjoy stunning perspectives of Ninh Kiều Wharf, the Cần Thơ Bridge in the distance, and bustling river life below
The bridge is pedestrian-only, making it safe and peaceful for evening walks, jogs, or simply relaxing under the stars.
Once across the bridge, you can explore the quieter Cái Khế Islet. The area features:
Small parks and tree-lined paths
Occasional cultural performances
Views back toward the Cần Thơ skyline
This is easily one of the most photogenic places in Cần Thơ. The best time to shoot is:
Golden hour (just before sunset) for warm tones
Night for dazzling LED reflections and city lights
