Jewel Changi Airport: A World-Class Transit Experience | Singapore Purple Travel Guide
Today’s itinerary is designed to be low-stress, allowing you to transition smoothly toward your flight to Kuala Lumpur. Rather than seeing the airport as a transit stop, you will discover why it is a world-class destination in its own right.
1. Morning: The ‘Buffer’ Session
Use this time to catch up on anything from the previous four days that you skipped.
- Recommendation: if you enjoyed the heritage of Chinatown but wanted more time for souvenir shopping, or if you wanted to walk through the Orchid Garden inside Gardens by the Bay, this is your window.
- Pro-Tip: Check out of your hotel but ask the concierge to hold your luggage so you can explore unencumbered before heading to the airport.
2. Afternoon: Changi Airport & Jewel
To reach this architectural wonder, take the East-West Line (Green) toward Pasir Ris and transfer at Tanah Merah (EW4) to the airport shuttle train.
- Finding Jewel: Once you arrive at the Changi Airport MRT Station (CG2), follow the clear overhead signs toward Terminal 2 or Terminal 3. Jewel is connected to the Arrival Halls of these terminals via pedestrian link bridges (a 5 to 10-minute walk). If you arrive at Terminal 1, the North Arrival Hall leads directly into the heart of Jewel.

3. Evening: Light and Sound Show
Before you head through immigration, stay for the HSBC Light & Sound Show at the Rain Vortex.

- The Experience: The waterfall transforms into a projection screen with a choreographed light display set to a dramatic soundtrack.
- Timing: Shows typically run hourly starting from 8:00 PM on weekdays and more frequently on weekends. It is the perfect ‘grand finale’ to your Singapore stay.
