Backpack and Snorkel Purple Travel GuideKLCC Park is a stunning 50-acre (20-hectare) tropical urban sanctuary located directly at the base of the Petronas Twin Towers. Designed as an ‘urban oasis’, this beautiful green space serves as a vital recreational and ecological escape from the surrounding concrete and steel. Opened in 1998, it was envisioned to provide a lush, verdant counterbalance to the massive scale of the skyscrapers in the city center.
Here at Backpack and Snorkel Travel Guides, we promote self-guided walking tours.
But we realize that not everybody likes to walk by themselves in a foreign city. So, just in case that you rather go with ab guide: NO PROBLEM! Please see the GuruWalk and Viator tours below.

It is the perfect spot for relaxing, jogging, and—critically—capturing the most iconic ground-level photos of the Petronas Twin Towers. For families, the massive free playground and public wading pool offer a refreshing and budget-friendly break. Whether you are looking for a peaceful place to read or a high-energy workout on the rubberized tracks, the park provides a rare sense of openness in the heart of the capital.

Tripods are generally allowed. The best time for photography is the ‘Blue Hour’ (approx. 7:15 PM) for the towers' glow. |
The most popular photo spot is the arched bridge that spans the lake. If you stand in the center of the bridge, you can perfectly frame both towers behind you. However, for a more unique and less crowded shot, you should walk to the southern end of the lake near the whale sculptures; the water creates a natural mirror that reflects the towers in their entirety. If you have children, you should bring a change of clothes and a towel, as they will almost certainly want to jump into the wading pool once they see the waterfall.
