Delhi has a seemingly never-ending supply of hotels, AirBnBs, and homestays, offering options for every budget.
However, be prepared: traffic in Delhi is nerve-wrecking, the city is intensely noisy, and roads are heavily congested. To minimize travel stress and noise, our advice is to consider three main lodging strategies:
Pros: Allows you to quickly move across the city and avoid some of the worst traffic congestion.
Cons: Most major attractions will still require a secondary taxi, Uber, or tuk-tuk ride from the metro station.
Pros: Keeps your daily drives to major attractions shorter.
Cons: The traffic noise in central Delhi is deafening and constant, and air pollution is severe. Finding a hotel that offers quiet, soundproofed rooms is highly advised. A good mid-range option often recommended is Boutique Hotel B Nineteen.
Pros: Luxury hotels in this area (like 5-star Pullman New Delhi Aerocity and 5-star Andaz Delhi, by Hyatt) are outside the main city chaos, offering a quieter, more serene environment, and the air quality can be slightly better. Excellent and affordable 5-star hotel options are available here.
Cons: You are far from the main historical and cultural sights, requiring longer commutes into the city center.
