B Nineteen is a solid 3-star boutique guesthouse (B&B) that provides a personalized, and intimate alternative to Delhi’s large corporate hotels. Situated in the leafy, affluent residential colony of Nizamuddin East, it is located within easy walking distance to the Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station and right next to, but not within walking distance to the entrance of, Humayun’s Tomb, unless you enjoy walking on a busy street. We chose this hotel, as we had an early morning train to Agra, and this hotel is just a few minutes walk from the train station. The hotel staff were so nice to walk us to the train station, as they feared we might get lost. But honestly, with google maps, this is an easy straightforward walk. But it, again, highlights how generous Indian people are.
If you are accustomed to the sprawling amenities of a 5-star resorts we have reviewed in this India Purple Travel Guide, you will notice a difference in scale, but B Nineteen nicely trades extravagance for authentic charm, offering a comfortable 3-star B&B experience.
The location of B Nineteen is one of its greatest strengths. As mentioned it is just a short walk from the Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station, which has direct trains to Agra with the Taj Mahal. The Nizamuddin Metro Station is also within walking distance, but a bit farther away than Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station.
Other nearby attractions are:
Humayun's Tomb: This UNESCO World Heritage site lies right next door, but the roughly 1-mile (1.4km) walk is mostly on a busy street, so taking a taxi or Uber is recommended.
Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya Dargah: The spiritual heart of the area is also very close, offering an incredible cultural experience.
Lodhi Gardens: One of Delhi’s most beautiful city parks and historical sites is only a short 10-15 minute drive away.
We only stayed at B Nineteen for one night and did not use all of their facilities. Our room was 300 sqft (28 m2), had a comfortable bed, a simple design, was clean, and the furniture shows few signs of wear.
While we were too tired from sightseeing to enjoy the stunning views of Humayun's Tomb from the rooftop terrace ourselves, this amenity is universally praised by guests and is a must-do when you stay.
As a boutique guesthouse, the focus is on quality and personalization, particularly when it comes to dining.
Personalized Breakfast: The complimentary breakfast was good, but the main dish was freshly prepared (home-cooked) and not part of a buffet.
Facilities: Amenities are focused on comfort rather than extravagance. While there is no large pool or full-service spa, guests benefit from a well-equipped shared kitchen, a small library, and personalized services like car rentals and organized excursions. The serene garden and terrace spaces serve as perfect spots for relaxation.
B Nineteen is a solid 3-star B&B, and perfect if you want a boutique experience. For us, the location close to the Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station was the perfect selling point.
We would definitely stay here again, but next time, for a few more days.
