The Andaz Delhi offers a distinctively boutique and sophisticated alternative to the larger Aerocity hotels, while maintaining the high standards of a 5-star property. Operating under the Hyatt brand, it focuses heavily on contemporary design, local artistry, and creating an immersive experience right from the start. Its philosophy is rooted in the ‘spirit of Delhi’, with a focus on connection and creativity, making it an excellent choice for modern travelers.
As to Hyatt policy, make sure to book this hotel via the Hyatt website and not a third-party app if you want to collect points for your stay.
Like its neighbor, the Pullman New Delhi Aerocity, the Andaz is situated in the Aerocity hospitality complex, just a 5–10 minute taxi/Uber ride from the terminals of Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL). This makes it an exceptionally convenient first or final stop on your itinerary.
Accessibility to downtown Delhi is straightforward via the Aerocity Metro Station, which is about a 10–15 minute walk from the hotel entrance. From there, the Airport Express Line offers a fast connection to central Delhi. While the convenience is high, travelers should still plan for a total travel time of one hour or more when commuting to major downtown tourist sites.
The Andaz stands out immediately for its unique concept. The design is bold, featuring exposed concrete, floor-to-ceiling windows, and local art installations (including the famous ‘401 Reasons to Love Delhi’ exhibit). The check-in process is notably casual and done via tablet, eliminating traditional reception desks.
Rooms are generously sized; our room was 441 sqft (41 m2). It offered a refined, minimalist aesthetic and had comfortable furnishings and excellent blackout curtains. Like the Pullman New Delhi Aerocity, the soundproofing is excellent, ensuring a peaceful stay despite the airport's proximity. The bathroom was stylish, featuring rainfall showers and luxurious amenities.
For convenience, the hotel provides two complimentary bottles of water daily, along with excellent in-room tea and coffee facilities.
As with the Pullman New Delhi Aerocity, the breakfast buffet is fantastic. It offers a huge selection of Western, Indian, and other international dishes and a large variety of drinks. The main restaurant, AnnaMaya (which focuses on locally sourced ingredients), provides excellent dining. We only ate at the in-house restaurant once and found the food to be very tasty—it was on the expensive side, but definitely worth the money.
The pool looked nice, but we did not use it. Neither did we use the fitness center but inspected it and found it to be very well-equipped.
The Andaz Delhi is an excellent choice for travelers who value cutting-edge design, a hip, relaxed atmosphere, and world-class dining based on local produce. While it shares the Pullman's superb airport proximity, it offers a more boutique and distinctive personality. If you prefer a hotel that feels modern, artistic, and less corporate, the Andaz is a highly appealing and convenient haven to begin or end your travels in India.
Having said all that: We liked the Pullman New Delhi Aerocity a little better, but that is a purely personal choice.
